Rotary Press Systems is the owner of several innovative and patented
technologies for use mainly in the construction and metal stamping
industries.
General: The patented technologies have a particularly wide and
varied application which enables it to be used in virtually every type of
construction and in most metal stamping operations. They offer many
benefits and gives the user a decided advantage over the competition. At
the core of the business is the patented Rotary Press Machine, the fastest
metal stamping machine in the world and specially designed steel profiles
primarily for use in the construction and automotive industries.
Main Business: The company’s main business is the licensing of
its technologies to leading companies on either an exclusive or
non-exclusive basis.
Steel Fabricating: Until the advent of the Rotary Press Machine
it was not economically feasible to make a C-section incorporating all the
features embodied in the "THERMASTEEL" section. A conventional press
machine simply cannot match the speed of the roll forming machines used in
making the C-section. The invention of the Rotary Press has however
changed all this. These Rotary machines easily match any modern high speed
roll forming machine which now makes it possible to install a metal press
machine in a roll forming line without slowing the rate of production. The
Rotary Press Machine is capable of operating at a production line speed in
excess of 300 feet per minute. Despite its speed this machine operates at
much higher tolerances than a conventional press machine. It is also
extremely versatile and cost effective to use. In addition the tools and
dies last longer as the rotary action is much smoother and less abrasive
than the motion of conventional press machines.
Construction: The Rotary Press Machine was initially designed to
produce specially designed and patented "THERMASTEEL" C sections. "THERMASTEEL"
has one of the highest strength to mass ratios of any structural material
in the market today due to the lip re-enforced triangular cut outs along
the length of its web. The main features of the "THERMASTEEL" section is
that the perforations have been designed in such a way that a lighter
section can now be produced which is as strong or stronger than a
conventional steel section and at the same time offering superior thermal,
fire and acoustic properties. This makes the "THERMASTEEL" section very
unique. Another very useful benefit is that the cut outs along the web
provide a convenient path for plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling
services. The "THERMASTEEL" products have been specifically engineered to
provide the construction industry with an innovative and cost effective
building product and system. It offers complete versatility and total
compatibility as the "THERMASTEEL" sections can either be used on their
own, or integrated with other standard construction materials and building
systems.
"THERMACAST" is a concrete panel with a steel frame made from specially
designed "THERMASTEEL" sections. This technology allows a composite
lightweight precast panel to be made that has many advantages over other
systems in the marketplace. This simple yet unique technology brings
together two commonly used building materials, namely steel and concrete,
to form a very economical method of building while producing structures of
superior quality.
Automotive: The "THERMASTEEL" section and Rotary Press Machine
offers major benefits to the automotive industry. These sections are ideal
for making vehicle and trailer chassis as they give higher payloads but
with less weight which is a major advantage. The Rotary Press Machine can
also be used to stamp out metal body parts for vehicles. The combination
of the Rotary Press’s speed, ability to process full width coil, and to
blank and form in a single operation makes it a very low cost production
aid.
